Games

One of the best way for language acquisition is through playing games …. My team and I would spend time with the students on the “pitch” (a dirt field that was used from everything from soccer games to classroom programs) playing games, talking and just running around!

It is amazing how much can be learned from the Hokkie Pokie (left – right – in – out . . ) and head shoulders knees and toes.

But then again turn-about if fair play and I did my best to learn hand games and songs! Some I actually know but wanted the students to believe that they were teaching me. I think some of them caught on about my command of Swahili.
